Get to Know Joy Wallace, Our Customer Care Leader at Aspyra
We are excited to share our spotlight of Joy Wallace. She is our Customer Care Leader at Aspyra LLC, and is an influential team member for our company’s success. She has been working with PACS products for over 27 years and her expertise has only grown. That’s why we wanted to share her story and her role at Aspyra.
What is Your Educational and Career Background?
I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree at Florida Community College in Jacksonville. I was a Nurse’s Aide prior to joining the Navy where I was on active duty for 8 years working in Aircraft Crash Fire and Rescue. Then, for 2 years, I was at the Puerto Rico Navy Exchange handling books and magazines. After the Navy, I did real estate, distributed technologies, and eventually found my way to Asprya LLC.
What is your Role in Aspyra and What Does it Entail?
I’m the Customer Care Leader at Aspyra. It entails supporting our customers by communicating with them, gathering feedback, assisting in addressing customer concerns, and providing access to the Customer Library. My responsibilities also include conducting CAPA Committee and Management Review meetings, internal audits, working with external auditors from the FDA and Intertek, updating SOPs, and so much more. My responsibilities seem endless, but that’s because of how much I care for this company.
As a Customer Care Leader, How Have You Seen PACS System Benefiting Your Customers?
Aspyra always followed the standards while also providing solutions to our customers’ needs. Our PACS provides a powerful tool for managing patients’ medical images and associated Radiologist reports and ancillary documents. Our customers’ primary benefit is that the platform provides high-quality electronic images anytime, anyplace within your facility’s security guidelines. The system is built by professionals with years of experience in clinical software design and development. Our team works hard every day to provide the best software & services for our customers. We customize our offerings based on customer requests and user-specific needs, and we strive to support our clients and deliver beyond their expectations. When I hear from customers that “the system just works”, it reaffirms everything we try to achieve at Aspyra.
How Would You Describe the Company Culture?
I can genuinely say it’s a true team: almost a family. Everyone helps one another in the company that needs it whether it involves troubleshooting something for a customer, testing something for development, or covering for someone who needs to be out of the office unexpectedly. That same helping attitude carries over to serving our customers.
What is Your Favorite Part of Your Job?
The people. Whether it’s the customers or my co-workers, there’s always something different going on. And since I was the first employee of the original PACS company in 1995 (STORcomm), everyone expects me to be the “company history book”. I usually do have the answer, however, my secret is not my memory, it’s always in the stored data and I know where to look!
What Do You Like to do in Your Free Time?
I love traveling, reading, and needlework. My skill set in needlework includes knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and embroidery.
What’s a Fun Fact About Yourself
I’m the shortest one in my family but was still taller than my grandmother.
