In our employee spotlight, we shine the light on one of our exceptional team members, Bill Pratt. With a wealth of experience and unwavering dedication, Bill is a true asset to our organization. Because of his deep understanding of the field and the passion for delivering exceptional results, he consistently goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. We were excited to sit down with our Vice President of Development to talk about his passion for computers and what makes Aspyra a special place to work.

What is Your Educational and Career Background?

I have traversed the world of technology for over 30 years and have had remarkable experiences in computer operations and development along the way. I began my career in the United States Air Force (USAF), where I discovered my passion for computers and coding. So, I got my degree in Computer Science and started as a Programmer and steadily progressed through the ranks, earning promotions as a Senior Programmer, Lead Programmer, and Development Manager. Today, I hold the position of VP of Development at Aspyra, where we continue to drive innovation and shape the digital landscape.

As Aspyra’s VP of Development, What Does Your Role Entail?

As the VP of Development at Aspyra, I’m responsible for leading the development of all our company products with the collaboration of the Marketing and Operations teams. I also serve as the primary representative for development in all regulatory audits and reporting, which ensures compliance with industry standards. Another vital aspect of my role is the selection and implementation of new technologies, so we can continue enhancing our products to stay at the forefront of innovation.

What Inspired You to Choose this Career?

I found my way into the Air Force because of the various options they provided, and the field of computer operations stood out to me because it was temperature controlled. Little did I know at the time that programming, which had always been a hobby of mine, would become my lifelong passion. Even after all these years, working in this field rarely feels like work. The blend of problem-solving, creativity, and continuous learning makes every day an engaging and fulfilling experience.

How Have You Seen PACS Grow and Benefit Organizations?

Our PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) has seen remarkable improvements in reliability, scalability, and ease of upgrades. Customer feedback has played a vital role in enhancing its performance and stability. With streamlined processes and automation, we ensure seamless access to medical images and data while accommodating growing storage and processing needs. We continue to evolve our PACS to meet the evolving demands of the healthcare industry, providing efficient and secure management of medical images.

How Would You Describe Aspyra’s Company Culture?

Our success is driven by a team that operates in harmony. Our team is experienced and works together to deliver exceptional results—which is our shared vision. Product development thrives through collaboration with departments such as Software Quality Assurance and Marketing. Each team member understands their role and contributes to producing feature-rich and high-quality new releases. It is this collective effort, dedication, and commitment to excellence that enables us to consistently deliver outstanding products to our customers.

What Do You Like to Do in Your Free Time?

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing video games, cooking, and going for drives in my car.
